Bari kar

“Bari Kar” project was initiated in 2020, after the 44-day Artsakh war, when thousands of Artsakh families were forcibly displaced from their homes, left homeless and without work.

For this purpose “Bari Mama” NGO decided to turn a corner of “Bari Tnak” into a small sewing workshop, where Artsakh women, who lost their husbands due to the war, learn sewing skills and then work there. This is a joint project, which was launched by the efforts of “Bari Mama’s” donations and “Aurora” Prize Initiative. As a result, all the equipment and other necessary items for the workshop were acquired, the beneficiaries were selected and sewing courses were organized. Upon successful completion of the course, they were given the opportunity to work in our “Bari Kar”.

Besides Artsakh women, the project also includes mothers having children with disabilities who, due to their children’s health problems and social conditions, could not leave home and go to work. “Bari Mama” helps them gain sewing skills that enables them to work from home while taking care of their children.

“Bari Kar” project is now successfully implementing its goals, with the aim of expanding and spreading its activities in the border areas of Armenia, where there is a large number of displaced families from Artsakh, socially vulnerable families, high unemployment and other economic problems.

The main goal of “Bari Kar” is to also boost the production of Armenian goods, contributing to the development of the Armenian economy and the expansion of the Armenian market abroad.
